The nose is beautifully crafted, offering a lovely texture, mellowness, a certain intensity and finesse in the grain. We perceive notes of wild blackberry, crushed blackcurrant and, more subtly, crushed wild strawberry, associated with touches of grey pepper, star anise, as well as a hint of roasted and elegant raspberry, and a subtle Mediterranean nuance and fine smoky notes. The palate is just as well crafted, fruity, fresh and elegant. Supple and suave, it deploys roundness and sweetness. We find notes of bright morello cherry, brilliant blackcurrant, and more lightly a refined purple plum, associated with Mediterranean accents, elegant roasted red fruits, as well as a light touch of grilled aromatic herbs, blueberry and zan. Tannins are elegant and discreetly firm. The finish plays on a beautiful bitterness of cocoa and roasted nuances, while highlighting a juicy and fresh roasted morello cherry. A beautiful chew.
