Château Lafite Monteil – Grande Réserve 2017 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The nose is aromatic and offers concentration as well as a fine austere side. It reveals notes of blackberry and wild fruits/berries associated with fine touches of oak, caramelization, discreet touches of tonka bean as well as a hint of flowers, violet and red fruits. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, juicy and offers a fine freshness, fat, a small suavity as well as a fine acid/juicy frame. On the palate is wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy raspberry and more slightly red berries/cherry associated with touches of toasted oak, sweet spices, a subtle hint of cardamom as well as discreet hints of caramelization and tonka bean on the finish. Tannins are well-built. There is a discreet hint of bitterness on the persistence/aftertaste.
