Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2022 – Sauternes, Premier Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, racy, precise and offers a certain power, finesse and intensity of the grain. The wine needs to be decanted. We find notes of mirabelle plum, crushed kumquat and small notes of small citrus fruits in syrup associated with touches of candied ginger, pineapple in syrup, fresh gravels as well as fine hints of flint. The palate is beautifully-built, well-balanced, full of precision and offers suppleness, a nice definition, roundness, unctuosity in precision, a crystalline side as well as a nice racy minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of roasted pineapple, marmalade/orangette and small notes of green peach in syrup associated with touches of sage as well as fine hints of acacia, flowers, honey and toasted hazelnut. A subtle sappy and almost saline hint in the background. Mellowness and gourmandise.
