Château La Vieille Croix 2018 – Fronsac

The nose is fruity and offers freshness, a certain gourmandize as well as a well-built fruit. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, crushed strawberry, small notes of violet associated with small touches of small fresh fruits as well as very fine hints of mild tobacco, sweet spices, a very discreet hint of liquorice and an imperceptible hint of camphor. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, fat and offers minerality, an acidulous frame, suavity, a small fullness and freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, crushed/fresh blackberry, small notes of crushed strawberry/strawberry candy associated with small touches of toasted, nutmeg and a fine hint of vanilla. Good length.
