The nose is fruity and reveals some power, a certain tension, accuracy and sincerity. There are notes of fresh raspberry, fresh blackberry and, to a lesser extent, fleshy/juicy red currant, combined with hints of star anise, racy minerality, as well as fine hints of gunflint, discreet pepper and a subtle hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, accuracy, tension, freshness, acidity, precision, finesse, richness/fine creaminess (in the background). On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, crushed currant and more slightly pulpy blackcurrant combined with hints of fresh lily/lilac, a touch of fresh red berries, vanilla, sweet blond tobacco as well as a discreet hint of graphite, a subtle touch of chocolate (in the background). Good length. The tannins are precise and mellow. A fine mellowness on the finish/persistence.
