The nose offers elegance, power, concentration and good definition. There are notes of Morello cherry, Sichuan pepper, crushed blue berries and more slightly violet, lily combined with hints of crushed strawberry, delicate touches of pepper, a sense of place and discreet graphite hints. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, pulpiness, roundness and a hint of over-ripeness in the fruit (but still retaining freshness). On the palate, this wine expresses notes of morello cherry, pulpy/juicy black plum and, more slightly, crushed raspberry combined with touches of liquorice, blond tobacco as well as fine chocolate, a hint of vanilla, toasted almond, toasted hazelnut and a subtle touch of saffron (in its floral side). The tannins are well-managed and structured. Sapidity/gourmandise on the finish.
