Château La Tour Figeac 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The wine would benefit from being decanted. The nose is spicy, frank, precise and expresses notes of boysenberry, clove and spices associated with fine hints of almost undergrowth, nutmeg, crushed wild strawberry and a very discreet hint of pepper. The palate is nicely built, fruity, currently a bit tight/contained, but offers a nice fat, minerality and race, a certain volume/roundness. It expresses notes of pulpy blackcurrant, pulpy blackberry and small notes of pulpy purple plum associated with touches of crushed blueberry, cornflower, liquorice stick and fine hints of vanilla. Tannins are mellow, sapid, suave and gourmand. Suppleness and harmony.
