Château la Tour de By 2019 – Médoc

The nose is elegant and offers power with delicacy, intensity and a fine, taut grain. There are notes of fairly ripe boysenberry, wild strawberry and more slightly crushed blackcurrant combined with subtle hints of liquorice/zan, morello cherry as well as fine points of cardamom and chocolate. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers gourmandise, freshness, a nice burst of fruit, good definition and fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, crushed blackberry and more slightly raspberry combined with hints of nutmeg, cardamom as well as fine points of fresh flowers and a discreet hint of chocolate in the background. The tannins are well-managed. A fine chewiness and a very discreet hint of roasting in the background.
