The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The initial nose is subtly spicy, floral and herbaceous. It expresses aromas of licorice, nutmeg, cardamom, dried mint, violet and dried rose petals and wisteria, as well as a hint of toasted hazelnut, hazelnut shells and smoke, combined with a subtle minerality (rock, limestone, dry stone). There is also a concentrated and fresh fruity material, with touches of dried fruits – aromas of red cherry, crushed raspberry, morello cherry, dried red cherry, as well as fresh blackcurrant and dried strawberry. The palate is tangy and tight, with sharp acidity and fine but grippy tannins. It expresses the flavors of tart red cherry, raspberry, cranberries, dried strawberry and red currants, combined with hints of blackcurrant leaf, liquorice, nutmeg, violet and peony. The finish is quite persistent and rounds out the flavors with notes of hazelnut shells, toasted hazelnut, as well as coffee bitterness, smoke and limestone in the background.
