Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2022 – Pessac-Léognan, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, racy, « frank », with depth, a fine textured side and delicately peppery and sappy at the same time, with elegant concentration and dare I say it, a sensation of lightness. It reveals notes of concentrated black plum, violet and small notes of notes of crushed strawberry, associated with touches of camphor, spice, aniseed as well as discreet hints of cocoa burr, almost a discreet roasted-elegant side, with a subtle hint of tobacco, iodize gravel and an imperceptible smoky hint. The palate is well-built, supple, fresh, airy, with richness, a lovely velvety texture and balance. It reveals notes of graphene, cocoa and small notes of notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, associated with touches of cornflower, small, fairly ripe red fruits as well as hints of toasted, roasting, a hint of sappy and a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut. The tannins are tasty, sappy and gourmand. Cocoa and roasting in the background. Good length. A wine offering freshness, elegant darkness and depth. Nicely balanced and airy side despite its richness and concentration. A fruit bomb.
