Château La Marzelle 2010 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is tense and offers a certain richness, a fine intensity as well as a small polished side. It reveals notes of pulpy/quite ripe blackberry, blue plum and small notes of crushed raspberry associated with small touches of graphit, violet, dry mild tobacco, very fine hints of Sichuan pepper and an imperceptible hint of underwood. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced, very discreetly tight and offers a beautiful definition, suavity, tension as well as power, a small silkiness, an acidulous frame, a small fat and a good structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, quite ripe blackberry and small notes of blue plum associated with touches of cornflower, graphite, tobacco/tobacco leaf as well as small touches of fleshy/crushed strawberry, tonka bean and toasted. Good length. Tannins are precise. A fine firmness on the finish/persistence.
