Château La Dominique 2011 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

On the nose it offers a fine power, a little richness, a fine texture as well as a good definition. It reveals notes of fairly ripe blackberry, fleshy strawberry and more slightly of pulpy currants associated with fine touches of small blue fruits as well as hints of nutmeg, toasted almond and a subtle hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers a nice juiciness, a tangy frame, gourmandize, a little freshness, a good tannic frame as well as a fine straightness. This wine expresses notes of tangy / pulpy raspberry, currants and more slightly of purple plum associated with touches of fairly ripe blackberry, fine touches of tobacco, nutmeg as well as a subtle hint of cloves and toasted almonds. Tannins are precise and finely mellow. Good length. Presence of a little sapidity on the finish / persistence.
