The nose is fresh, fruity, precise, straight and tense. We perceive a nice velvety textured side of the grain in finesse with power and elegance. We have notes of crushed blackberries, small, fairly ripe black berries and slight notes of pepper associated with touches of crushed raspberries, bright pulpy blueberries as well as hints of black tea, nutmeg and spices. There is a discreet hint of violet. The palate is nicely mineral, fresh, balanced, tangy with precision and tension. There is a nice fatiness with a fine creaminess which accompanies notes of crushed blackberries, bright blueberries and more slightly raspberries or even small crushed berries associated with touches of toast, caramelization or even chocolate as well as a hint toasted hazelnut and a subtle hint of sage in the background. The tannins are distinguished.
