Château La Croix-Coulifaut 2020 – Pomerol

The nose offers accuracy, concentration and precision. The wine expresses juicy notes of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry), juicy red fruit (crushed strawberry, bigarreau cherry, raspberry) and refined herbaceous notes (peppermint, fresh thyme). There are also delicate floral notes of violet, fresh rose petals and cornflower. The spice notes (liquorice, cinnamon, vanilla) are very subtle and integrated. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and warm without being heavy. It expresses notes of juicy black fruits (black plum, blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry), red fruits (strawberry garriguette, red cherry, raspberry coulis) as well as delicate flavors of sweet spices (cinnamon, a touch of grilled vanilla, ground nutmeg), herbs and dried flowers (dried mint, dried violet, iris), accompanied by a pleasant bitterness of cocoa and chocolate. The tannins are firm and tight, but fine. Good length and lively, mouthwatering acidity. A wine with tension and concentration on the palate.
