The nose offers tension, concentration, freshness, pronounced spicy and toasted nuances (toasted wood, fresh wood, toasted hazelnut, as well as hints of pine sap, warm needles and wild mint, liquorice, cardamom, tonka bean and tangy and juicy ripe fruits (morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, raspberry, blueberry), combined with a touch of violet, tobacco and gravel in the background. The palate offers a toasted and chocolatey attack (toasted wood, coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, chocolate morello cherry), a fruity mid-palate (fresh morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, raspberry, strawberry), with a hint of wild mint and blackcurrant leaves. Good length, with a smoky, toasted and spicy touches on the persistence. The acidity is salivating, the finish is sapid (with notes of crushed black plum, chocolate morello cherry, spices, fresh tobacco). The tannins are firm, but not dry.
