Château la Clarière 2024 – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose is concentrated, fruity, a little roasted. It expresses notes of roasted fruits (roasted cherry in the background, roasted raspberry, roasted herbs), toasted wood, toasted pine needles, fresh fruits (morello cherry, red cherry, crushed red currants), spices (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper), dried mint, violet, peony, rose petals and fresh tobacco in the background. The palate is silky, but with firmness without being astringent, the tannins have a fine grain and are quite firm, well built. The attack is on fresh tangy fruits (raspberry, crunchy strawberry), complemented by notes of morello cherry, roasted red cherry, a fine toasted and spicy touch (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper, toasted wood, toasted pine needles). Good length and acidity, persistence on a mineral and cocoa touch.
