The nose is fragrant, fruity and delicately spicy. It expresses notes of fresh morello cherry, morello cherry jam, black plum, blueberry, blackcurrant, red cherry and crushed strawberry, accompanied by touches of mint chocolate, licorice, vanilla, cinnamon, lily, peony and roasted (coffee) in the background. On the palate, the attack is expressive and supple, it offers notes of ripe morello cherry, black plum, red cherry, crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis and blueberry, with spicy notes (licorice, cinnamon, walnuts, nutmeg) and herbs in the background (roasted aromatic herbs). There is also a touch of roasted meat on the finish. The tannins are astringent, rough and not yet integrated. A good level of acidity and the fruity substance of the wine partly soften its drying side at this stage. This wine will need time to soften its tight structure and integrate the grippy tannins.
