The nose is fresh, racy and reveals some spiciness and a nice finesse of grain. There are notes of wild blackcurrant, juicy/fresh cherry and a hint of fresh nutmeg combined with hints of juicy/fresh berries, a hint of grey pepper and a subtle hint of fresh flowers, peony and a very discreet hint of fresh sap. The palate is fruity, balanced and reveals juiciness, nice definition, gourmandize, nice acidity/juiciness of the fruit, energy, a little tension and purity of fruit. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/fresh cherry, bright raspberry and more lightly almost bright/acidic plum notes with hints of juicy/fresh blueberry, spice, a hint of varietal, fresh gooseberry, a hint of peony as well as a very discreet hint of grey pepper, chocolate/ liquorice and a subtle hint of bourbon vanilla. Good length. A subtle hint of positive bitterness and a discreet chewiness on the finish. Sweetness, purity and good definition.
