Château Hourtou 2018 – Côte de Bourg

The nose is fruity, aromatic and offers a small gourmandize. It reveals notes of fleshy/juicy strawberry, juicy/fleshy raspberry and small notes of Boysenberry associated with small touches of violet, vanilla, very fine hints of hazelnut as well as a subtle hint of fresh nutmeg and ripe almond. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers freshness, juiciness, a small gourmandize as well as a mineral frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fleshy cassis , juicy/ripe raspberry and small notes of strawberry associated with fine touches of violet as well as very fine hints of liquorice, vanilla pod, cardamom and an imperceptible hint of ripe almond. Tannins are elegant, structuring and slightly firm. Very firm hints of chocolate on the finish/persistance.
