Château Haut-Maillet 2020, Pomerol

On the nose, fruity, beautiful and offers a fine intensity, some complexity and power. It reveals notes of bright blackberry, pulpy wild strawberry and subtle notes of violet associated with touches of small red berries, nutmeg, toasted almond, hints of tonka bean, coffee and a discreet waft of pepper. On the palate, fruity and offers freshness, minerality, nice definition, gourmandize, an airy character, a nice management of its richness, an acidic frame. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright black currant and subtle notes of bright purple plum combined with hints of crushed currant, violet, lily as well as touches of bergamot, saffron, dark chocolate/tonka bean, fine cardamom and toast. The tannins are precise and well-balanced. Good length. Power on the finish.
