Château Haut-Maillet 2017 – Pomerol

The nose is aromatic, elegant, gourmand and offers harmony. It reveals notes of blackberry, strawberry and small notes of blueberry associated with fine touches of violet, hints of Bourbon vanilla as well as discreet hints of nutmeg, hazelnut and an imperceptible hint of coffee/chocolate (in the background). The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced and offers a juicy frame, a good definition, straightness as well as a fine tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy cassis and small notes of juicy raspberry associated with fine touches of violet, chocolate/cocoa, caramelization as well as a subtle hint of violet and sweet spices. Tannins are elegant and well-built. Good length.
