Château Guibeau 2021 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

Château Guibeau 2021 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration, ripe fruit and a savoury spiciness. It first expresses notes of liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper, associated with a fine herbaceous touch (dried mint, a touch of pine needles) and juicy fruits (crushed red plum, morello cherry, black plum, strawberry, a hint of blackcurrant). We also find a slight woody touch in the background (fresh oak) and a floral hint of violet. The attack on the palate is enveloping and expressive, with lots of fruit (morello cherry, red plum, black plum, roasted red cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry) and pronounced, bur enveloped woody and spicy notes (toast, fresh oak, liquorice, cardamom, nutmeg). The finish is rather persistent, supple, gourmand and chocolatey (mint chocolate). The tannins are fine, quite firm and well structured. Beautiful refreshing acidity on the finish. A well-constructed, sapid and fresh wine.
