Château Grangey 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is aromatic, fruity and offers gourmandize, elegance, a fine richness, a small power as well as a fine grain. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of crushed strawberry associated with fine touches of Cuben pepper, violet, lily, racy minerality as well as a discreet hint of nutmeg, vanilla and an imperceptible hint of chocolate. The palate is fruity, juicy, elegant, very discreetly tight and offers tension, a beautifully silky touch, roundness, a fine freshness as well as a slightly acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of fleshy fruits associated with touches of strawberry, cherry as well as hints of violet/cornflower, chocolate, vanilla, a very discreet hint of nutmeg and an imperceptible hint of coffee (in the background) on the finish. Tannins are elegant, fine and well-built. Good length and persistence. There are fine hints of caramelization on the persistence. A very discreet hint of dried / ripe almond on the aftertaste.
