Château Grand-Puy Ducasse 2020 – Pauillac

On the nose, fresh with harmonious power, intensity, fine texture, a compact/tight edge and complexity. It reveals notes of pulpy wild blackberry, fairly ripe wild strawberry and hints of ripe black berry fruit combined with hints of violet, cherry/cherry, nutmeg as well as fine hints of sweet spice, black tea and toast. On the palate, fruity with juiciness, minerality, freshness, tension as well as controlled richness, gourmandize, a nice tannic structure. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fleshy/juicy strawberry with hints of violet associated with touches of fresh/pulpy small red fruits, hints of cardamom, graphite, dark chocolate, toasted/caramelized, discrete background hints of blond tobacco, a subtle hint of tea and toasted hazelnut. Good length. A nice racy, elegant and gourmet.
