Château Gouprie 2021 – Pomerol

The nose is racy and spicy. There are notes of wild blackcurrant, fresh/pulpy berries and a hint of black pepper combined with hints of lily, fleshy raspberry, graphite and spice. The palate is fruity and reveals freshness, some creaminess, an acidic backbone, minerality, a certain richness, some airiness and roundness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black currant liqueur, pulpy/juicy blackberry, crushed raspberry and, more slightly, violet, combined with hints of pulpy plum, as well as delicate nuances of fresh flowers, a subtle touch of fresh blond tobacco, nutmeg/clove and a subtle hint of cocoa. The tannins are well managed.
