Château Gazin 2021 – Pomerol

Château Gazin 2021 – Pomerol

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers accuracy, density and depth. The aromas combine the juiciness of ripe fruits (morello cherry, black plum, wild strawberry, blackcurrant jam, fresh blackcurrant, fresh blueberry), savoury sweet spices (an intense note of liquorice, which is similar to star anise, nutmeg, clove, a hint of vanilla, white pepper), a herbaceous freshness (crushed peppermint leaf, tobacco leaf, pine needles), a hint of violet and torrefaction (coffee, toasted almond with a delicate bitterness , toasted wood), which appears in the second nose. The palate is straight, a bit firm, with a tight and powerful tannic structure. The flavors are fresh and juicy: we find notes of morello cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, blueberry, blackcurrant jam, as well as a hint of cherry in chocolate, associated with spicy notes of liquorice (or even star anise), white pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, toasted almond with a slight bitterness, toasted wood (in the background), violet and a refreshing herbaceous touch (peppermint, tobacco, a slight savory note). The finish is persistent, with a lively acidity, a slightly tight tannic structure, but balanced by the juiciness and gourmandise of the fruits.
