Château Garreau 1985  – Bas-Armagnac

The nose is fine, fruity and racy. It reveals slight touches of ripe brugnon, ripe lemon and a discreet hint of ripe clementine associated with discreet hints of caramel, exotic fruits as well as subtle hints of spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers gourmandise, freshness, a slight acid frame, fat, finesse, a beautiful fat, a certain precision, suavity as well as a very slight unctuosity. In the mouth this Armagnac expresses notes of candied nectarine, compoted white fruits and a hint of quenette associated with discreet hints of lemon, a subtle hint of vanilla and a very discreet hint of roasting/oak/mocha on the finish. Nice persistence.
