CHATEAU FOURCAS HOSTEN – 2022 – Bordeaux Blanc

CHATEAU FOURCAS HOSTEN – 2022 – Bordeaux Blanc

The nose offers a lovely citrus freshness, especially with a zesty hint (zest of yellow lemon, grapefruit, even orange) as well as grapefruit juice, which brings a good bitterness. We then find touches of tangy apricot, juicy white peach, crushed green apple, a fragrant floral bouquet (acacia, fresh linden, linden infusion, a hint of lily), a delicate touch of lychee and a lactic hint of lemon cream and orange cream. A very light touch of fresh hazelnut and toasted hazelnut, combined with a pleasant bitterness of almond, emerges after aeration. The palate is lively, with a gourmet attack, but chiseled (also with a hint of citrus zest – yellow lemon, grapefruit, orange), softened by notes of citrus juice (grapefruit juice and yellow lemon). On the mid-palate, we find the tangy side of apricot, delicately wrapped green apple as well as tangy pineapple, a fine touch of honey in the background, even of wax, fresh and toasted hazelnut, a very delicate touch of vanilla in the background and fresh and dried flowers (acacia, dried linden). The finish is persistent, gourmet and textured, enveloping, with a supple and pleasant acidity. A good subtle bitterness refreshes the whole. A round and gourmet white wine, but with a beautiful freshness.
