The nose is fresh, racy and offers a nice finesse of grain, delicate power and a little peppery quality. There are notes of crisp blackcurrant, lily and more lightly fresh/crisp berry fruits combined with nuances of peony, hints of fresh nutmeg, grey pepper as well as fine hints of sweet spices, a subtle hint of tea and a discreet varietal touch. The palate is mineral, balanced and reveals juiciness, minerality, acidity, good definition, tension, a discreetly tight tannic structure, elegance and gourmandize. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackcurrant, fresh/crisp red berries and more lightly of lily, pistil combined with hints of peony, tonka bean as well as fine hints of sense of place, fresh blond tobacco and a discreet hint of vanilla. Good length. The tannins are precise, fine and mellow. Nice freshness and acidity. A lovely classic vintage, fresh and acidic.
