Château Fontenil 2018 – Fronsac

The nose is aromatic and offers concentration (full of justness/control), a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as a small intensity and a certain power. It reveals notes of ripe wild cassis, wild blackberry, small notes of iris, violet associated with touches of sichuan pepper, small fruits as well as fine hints of raspberry, fresh nutmeg and a discreet hint of dry forest (biotope). The palate is fruity, fresh and offers a beautiful juiciness, generosity, gourmandize, a beautiful precision, straightness as well as concentration (full of justness/precision). On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, pulpy cassis, small notes of small pulpy/juicy blue fruits associated with touches of cornflower, small fleshy/juicy red berries as well as discreet hints of chocolate, caramelization, toasted, nutmeg, an imperceptible hint of local biotope/sense of the place, salinity, grey pepper and very discreet hints of chocolate. Tannins are precise and very finely firm. Good length.
