The nose is elegant, racy, beautifully managed and reveals gourmandize as well as power. There are notes of bright blackcurrant, morello cherry and more slightly violet combined with touches of crushed red berries, lily, liquorice and a discreet hint of bourbon vanilla and liquorice. A certain aromatic purity. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, a fine roundness, good definition, an acidic backbone and a finely tightened tannic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, blackcurrant and more slightly violet combined with hints of pulpy/fresh raspberry, roasted almond, fine toasted notes and a subtle touch of vanilla and racy minerality. The tannins are elegant and racy. Good work on the bitter taste in the background.
