Château Fonplegade 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, elegant, racy, beautifully conducted and offers a 3-dimensional / multi-layered structure, darkness as well as depth in elegance. It reveals notes of wild cassis, bright blackberry and small notes of morello cherry associated with touches of graphene, sense of place (Mediterranean barrier), wild pepper, cypress as well as hints of crushed blueberry, discreet hints of cornflower and Bourbon vanilla. The palate is beautifully juicy, fruity and offers minerality, freshness, a nice definition, a tangy frame, a nice multi-layered structure and a frank, fine, straight and elegant texture at the same time, all in accuracy. It expresses notes of wild blackberry, suave blackcurrant and small notes of small roasted-juicy black fruits, associated with touches of cornflower, violet as well as a hint of small wild red berries, wild red pepper as well as hints of mocha, clove, infusion and roasting. Beautifully defined, precise, gourmand, mellow. Tannins are mellow, tasty, a chalky side in the mouth and a nice purity/brilliance/crystalline side of the matter. A certain creaminess in juiciness and elegance.
