Château Filhot 2022 – Sauternes, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fresh, racy, elegant and offers a certain elegance, deepsness, a beautiful definition, a sappy side as well as a richness in control. It reveals notes of candied orange, kumquat and small notes of bright yellow fruits associated with touches of pulpy vine peach, fruits in sirup, hints of zest, spices as well as a discreet sappy hint of verbena, racy minerality and a very discreet hint of pepper. The palate is elegante, racy, beautifully balanced, suave, fruity and offers freshness, minerality, unctuosity, gourmandise, a nice matter, energy, fat, as well as tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of kumquat, crystallized mandarin and small notes of orangette, physalis associated with touches of pineapple, tangy/crunchy peach, a discreet hint of dry apricot as well as fine hints of verbena and a fine hint of sweet spices. Good length and persistence.
