Château Filhot 2019 – Sauternes, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is racy, elegant, fruity and offers a good finesse of the grain as well as a certain complexity. There are notes of pulpy / bright apple, fresh kumquat and small notes of crystallized lemon associated with fine touches of star fruit, discreet hints of saffron, spices as well as a subtle hint of lime and minerality (in the background). The palate is fruity, racy, elegant and offers a beautiful finesse of the grain, a certain power of the grain, complexity, roundness, a small unctuosity, a nice balance as well as a beautiful acidulous frame. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crunchy vine peach, bright quenette and small notes of kumquat associated with touches of crushed apple, fine hints of candied lemon, lemon blossoms as well as a subtle hint of minerality almost saline and with discreet hints of spices. A stretched side on the finish. Good length and good persistence. Beautiful work on the bitterness, especially on the finish.
