Château Filhot 2017 – Sauternes, 2ème Grand Cru Classé

The nose offers freshness, a small concentration/richness as well as a fine intensity. It reveals notes of zests, quince and small notes of yuzu associated with fine touches of crunchy white peach, white flowers, hints of white tea as well as a discreet hint of spices and an imperceptible hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, precision, gourmandize, an acidulous frame, a racy minerality, a beautiful grain, fullness as well as a fine unctuosity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of quince, crushed peach and small notes of pear associated with fine touches of citrus (lemon, yuzu), a subtle hint of Mirabelle as well as discreet hints of flowers honey and dry almond. Good length. Good persistence on acidity as well as a fine hint of almond.
