There are notes of fleshy blackberry, raspberry and more lightly crushed red berries associated with fine touches of zan, violet, a subtle almost sappy character, and a discreet vanillin tinge. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, good definition, juiciness, acidity, discreetly tight richness, minerality, good linearity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, pulpy raspberry and more slightly fleshy/crushed cherry combined with hints of violet, vanilla as well as fine toasted hazelnut, a subtle hint of sweet blond tobacco, an imperceptible hint of star anise and coffee (in the background). Good length. The tannins are precise and finely mellow.
