Château FAUGERES 2021 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

The wine needs to be decanted. It is elegant and finely tight. It reveals notes of blackberry, violet and small notes of morello cherry associated with a touch of cassis as well as slight hints of lily/ varietal and discreet hints of sweet pepper in the background. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, an acidulous frame, energy, good definition, a certain precision, tension, and a certain breadth/ fullness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of acidulous/ bright cassis, acidulous/ bright blueberry and small notes of pulpy/ juicy/ acidulous cherry associated with touches of cornflower, lily, licorice stick with discreet hints of small fruits and sweet/toasted blond tobacco. Good length with precision, freshness, and an acidulous side. It has mellowness and sapidity on the finish/persistence.
