The nose is closed and a bit reductive. The wine needs to be decanted. There are notes of blackcurrant, violet and, to a lesser extent, red berries, combined with touches of liquorice, caramelisation and a subtle hint of pepper, a discreet hint of varietal and an imperceptible hint of camphor. The palate is mineral and offers an acidic backbone, tension, tightness, harmony and a nice freshness. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, wild strawberry and slightly wild berry notes combined with hints of fresh blond tobacco, camphor and a subtle hint of pepper. The tannins are tightly wound and discreetly dry. A subtle hint of bramble/rosewood in the background.
