Château du Payre 2020

The nose offers richness, a certain concentration, a good definition. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis, violet, small notes of caramelization associated with touches of tasted oak, a hint of vanilla and a subtle hint of strawberry. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, freshness, minerality as well as a good definition, a certain tension, a fine straightness, a fine grain and a good tannic structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, raspberry, small notes of small bright red berries associated with touches of cassis, camphor, toasted/grilled oak, fine hints of pepper and clove. Good length. Tannins are precise and finely powdered.
