Château du Courlat – Cuvée Jean-Baptiste 2022 – Lussac Saint-Émilion

Château du Courlat – Cuvée Jean-Baptiste 2022 – Lussac Saint-Émilion

The nose is fruity and fresh, with a fine tight and contained side. It is expressed with notes of very ripe wild strawberry, very ripe blackberry, and graphene, associated with touches of nutmeg, a hint of smoke, and subtle nuances of infusion. On the palate, the wine is fruity and fresh, with a velvety texture and a fine powdery side. The structure is tannic and tangy, offering a fine content side, with a slight fat and fleshiness. Wine benefits from being decanted. We find notes of pulpy blackcurrant, small fleshy black berries and bright raspberry, combined with touches of fleshy and juicy small fruits. Nuances of chocolate, toasted notes, roasted hazelnut and mocha complete the whole. Tannins are mellow, fresh and juicy, with a subtle, almost sappy hint, very discreet in the background.
