Château D’Etroyes – Les Velley 2018 – Mercurey Premier Cru

The nose is gourmand and offers power, deepness as well as dynamism and a certain intensity. It reveals notes of fleshy cherry, pulpy questch plum, small notes of bright blueberry associated with touches of bright wild strawberry as well as hints of small blue fruits, cornflower, rose, graphite, a very discreet hint of lilac, pepper and bourbon vanilla pod. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, gourmandize as well as pulpiness, straightness, a discreetly tight tension, a beautiful finesse of the fat, a beautiful matter and unctuosity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright blueberry, pulpy/juicy blackberry, raspberry associated with touches of plum, small fleshy/crushed red fruits as well as hints of cornflower, violet, chocolate, a subtle hint of vanilla and crushed almond. Good length. A beautiful gourmand wine, precise, full of tension.
