The nose offers some power, intensity and a fine, tight grain. There are notes of wild blackberry, blackcurrant and, more slightly, violet combined with touches of grey pepper and a subtle hint of clove and nutmeg. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality and good definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, pulpy/fresh raspberry and more slightly blackcurrant combined with hints of violet, cocoa, fine toasted almond and a subtle hint of positive bitterness and salinity on the finish. The tannins are finely pronounced.
