The nose offers elegance, a nice fine grain and good definition. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of ripe wild blackberry, morello cherry and slightly grey pepper, combined with delicate touches of ripe wild red fruit, violet, fine nutmeg and discreet hints of vanilla and cinnamon. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, fatness, generosity in its fruit and a nice minerality/freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of morello cherry, pulpy blackberry and more slightly fresh/pulpy red berries combined with touches of racy minerality, violet, fresh blond tobacco as well as fine points of nutmeg and chocolate. The tannins are racy, well-managed and offer a fine chewiness.
