The nose is elegant, fresh, racy and concentrated. There are notes of pulpy wild blackcurrant, blackberry liqueur and, more lightly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of vanilla, violet, crushed red berries, as well as hints of cedar, sweet spices, rose and a subtle touch of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, fresh and reveals minerality, good definition, finesse, a tangy, racy structure, a little mellowness, tension and energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, crisp raspberry and more slightly fresh cherry combined with hints of lily, lilac as well as hints of liquorice, chocolate, fine vanilla, toast and a subtle hint of cedar. A fine touch of dark chocolate bitterness and toasted hazelnut on the finish.
