Château de Pez  2016 – Saint-Estèphe

Château de Pez  2016 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose is fresh, fruity and slightly powerful. It revels notes of fleshy/fresh blackberry and notes of fleshy Gariguette strawberry associated with discreet toasted hints, dark chocolate as well as slight notes of licorice (that come around the fruits) and a slight/discreet hint of Tonka bean. The palate is fruity, gourmand, racy, well-balanced, beautifully supple and offers a beautiful fruit (focus on the fruit), a (very) beautiful freshness, a slight acid frame, a racy minerality, a certain density as well as fleshiness (in the middle-palate) and a a silky matter. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of ripe/fresh blackberry, slight notes of fleshy Gariguette strawberry and slight notes of fleshy black cherry associated with a discreet woody hint, chocolate as well as slight notes of caramelization and discreet notes of sweet spices. Tannins are fine and well-built.
