The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The nose is open and expressive, with notes of smoked meat at the beginning, which disappear after aeration. Then there are notes of ripe red and black fruits (Morello cherry, blackberry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, blue plum, blueberry) and a nice freshness of aromatic herbs and flowers (peppermint, fresh rosemary, sage, peony, lilac). There is also a subtle spiciness (liquorice, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg). On the palate, the wine offers juiciness and a nice concentration of fruit. There are notes of ripe red and black fruits (black plum, Morello cherry, blueberry, blackberry, red cherry, crushed strawberry), accompanied by sweet notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, liquorice, clove and nutmeg. The tannins are fine, well-integrated but quite powerful. The finish is persistent, fruity and spicy, with notes of Morello cherry, liquorice and bitter almond. Nice freshness on the palate and a pleasant salivating acidity.
