The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The nose is reserved, of medium intensity, but the aromas open up after aeration. The wine expresses aromas of ripe black fruit (blueberry, Morello cherry, black plum, blackberry) and tart red fruit (sour cherry, red currant, wild strawberry), as well as herbaceous (peppermint, fresh thyme), floral (peony, lily), spicy (liquorice, a hint of cinnamon) and toasty notes. On the palate, there is plenty of fruit (fresh Morello cherry, blackberry, fresh blackcurrant, red cherry, redcurrant jam, blueberry), accompanied by a nice freshness of dried herbs (peppermint, fresh rosemary, sage), spices (liquorice, cinnamon, white pepper) and fresh flowers (blueberry, peony). The tannins are velvety, powdery, powerful but delicate. Beautiful persistence on the palate, fruity and rich, with a note of smoked meat. Nice salivating acidity throughout the finish. A deep, complex and rather young wine. To be kept for several years.
