The wine has a medium ruby colour. The nose is generous, warm and spicy. The nose is generous, warm and spicy, with a slight smoky, toasty, roasted herbal note (thyme, laurel, dried mint), a dense fruity bouquet is concentrated with juicy notes of ripe black fruits (Morello cherry, fresh blackcurrant, blueberry), This is complemented by a tangy side of red fruit (red currant, cherry, wild strawberry) and fine floral (fresh blueberry, peony, lily) and spicy (subtle hints of cinnamon, clove, white pepper and liquorice) notes. On the palate, the wine offers a lot of gourmandise, roundness and richness. It expresses juicy, ripe and slightly jammy fruit notes: wild strawberry, wild blackberry, Morello cherry and fresh Morello cherry jam, raspberry coulis, red currant and cranberry jam. There is also fresh peppermint, an elegant floral touch (fresh blueberry, rose petals, lily) and spicy, savoury notes on the finish (toast, roasted meat, clove, nutmeg). The tannins have a velvety, silky and enveloping texture, but a good hold. The finish is persistent, round and gourmet, on the fruit, which together with the lively acidity gives the wine a nice freshness and a good ageing potential.
