CHATEAU DE CHANTEGRIVE « CUVEE CAROLINE » 2022 – Graves

The nose is concentrated, gourmand slightly toasted and vanilla, with a well-integrated and pronounced, but quite subtle spiciness. The first nose expresses notes of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, fresh hazelnut, toasted almond in the background, then, we find juicy and gourmet fruits (yellow peach, crushed apricot, yellow apple, an exotic touch of passion fruit, pineapple and papaya in the background), complemented by the freshness of citrus fruits – ripe yellow lemon, candied yellow lemon peel, crushed orange, a hint of grapefruit, a touch of sweet white flowers (acacia, lime, apple blossom), a hint of sweet honey and fresh wood in the background. The palate is chiseled, lively, with a fresh attack, on the bitterness of grapefruit, followed by notes of citrus fruits (ripe yellow lemon, candied yellow lemon peel, crushed orange, grapefruit), stone fruits, passion fruit, with a hint of vanilla, fresh hazelnut, toasted hazelnut, bitter almond, fresh wood in the background and white flowers. Beautiful fresh acidity and an enveloping texture, complemented by a good bitterness. Beautiful balance between freshness, an expressive and pleasant citrus side and delicacy. Beautiful complexity, a soft texture and freshness.
