The nose is aromatic, with fairly expressive woody notes (heated wood, toasted hazelnut), but balanced by a fresh and juicy fruitiness (morello cherry, red plum, black plum). The mouth is a little tight, but quite fruity. It expresses notes of tangy fruits – morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, blueberry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, even dried blackcurrant, associated with touches of liquorice, vanilla, dried mint, nutmeg, cloves, bitter cocoa and morello cherry in chocolate. The palate also offers good bitterness, but has drying tannins, softened by a salivating acidity. There are also minty flavors of dried mint, liquorice and blackcurrant leaf. The tannins are grainy and a bit astringent, the finish is tight and tangy.
